LOVE AT FIRST GLANCE!!

NO… Of course I’m not referring to an uber handsome guy that I walked by or saw. It’s more than that!!! It’s the shoes which I browsed at delias.com. Super lovely! Super tempting! Larrvvvvvvee ittt!!!

Hmm.. I started to have a thing (more of fascination) with wedges when I wore my first pair. They’re really comfy and it adds up some confidence whenever I’d walk. So eversince I’ve been really loyal to wedges. I even use a wedge as my school shoes. I’d also scout for wedges from different online shops and tada!!! Found the perfect wedge shoes for myself!

It’s simple and preppy. It’s so me! I super love the cute floral design on the heel itself.
I am super gonna save up for it or better yet, I’ll just wait until it goes on sale. Wait for me my shoe! One size 7 Keds Bliss coming up ~!! By the way, it’s now priced at a hefty $60 which when converted into peso with shipping and charges would probably be around P3500 not bad at all.

LAW OF THE GARBAGE TRUCK

by David J. Pollay

How often do you let other people's nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, rude waiter, curt boss, or an insensitive employee ruin your day? Unless you're the Terminator, for an instant you're probably setback on your heels. However, the mark of a successful person is how quickly he/she can get back her focus on what's important.

Sixteen years ago I learned this lesson. I learned it in the back of a New York City taxi cab. Here's what happened:

I hopped in a taxi, and we took off for Grand Central Station. We were driving in the right lane when, all of a sudden, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car's back end by just inches!

The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, whipped his head around and he started yelling bad words at us.

My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was friendly. So, I said, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!'

And this is when my taxi driver told me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

“Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it. And if you let them, they'll dump it on you. When someone wants to dump on you, don't take it personally.

You just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. You'll be happy you did.

So this was it: The 'Law of the Garbage Truck.' I started thinking, how often do I let Garbage Trucks run right over me? And how often do I take their garbage and spread it to other people: at work, at home, on the streets? It was that day I said, 'I'm not going to do it anymore.' I began to see garbage trucks. I see the load they're carrying. I see them coming to drop it off. And like my Taxi Driver, I don't make it a personal thing; I just smile, wave, wish them well, and I move on.

One of my favorite football players of all time, Walter Payton, did this every day on the football field. He would jump up as quickly as he hit the ground after being tackled. He never dwelled on a hit. Payton was ready to make the next play his best.

Good leaders know they have to be ready for their next meeting. Good parents know that they have to welcome their children home from school with hugs and kisses. Teachers and parents know that they have to be fully present, and at their best for the people they care about.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let Garbage Trucks take over their day. What about you? What would happen in your life, starting today, if you let more garbage trucks pass you by?

Here's my bet.
You'll be happier.

So.. Love the people who treat you right.
Forget about the ones who don't.
Believe that everything happens for a reason.
If you get a chance, TAKE IT!
If it changes your life, LET IT!
Nobody said it would be easy...
They just promised it would be worth it!

P.S. I'm not drawn into writing about garbage (previous post and now). Nagkataon lang.
Wink!

WEEK OF THE GENIUS

Since it’s already our vacation, I’m stuck at home with nothing to do and nowhere to go so nothing much is happening and there’s not so much to blog about. So, I’ll just post this horoscope write-up I got from a magazine. I’m not really a believer in horoscopes especially those I see in newspapers but when I read this write-up I was super surprised to find out that about 80% of it really described my characteristics (those in bold face). People might say that it’s a mere coincidence; but as for me I believe that there’s really some truth behind it.

My birthday: January 29

The week of the genius
(January 23-30)

Although Aquarians born in the week of genius, may not necessarily be more intelligent than others, they generally learn quick (hmm,. I’d like to believe that I learn quick most of the times) often arousing other people’s amazement, and also jealousy, due to the speed and ease with which they pick things up at first go.

Exhibiting an alert, even high-strung demeanor, they do not count patience as one of their virtue (Was never patient!! And will never be!!). Like thoroughbreds, they are hot-blooded types, usually chomping at the bit to get on with it. Although it is true that they are easily bored, they are quite capable of perseverance when they feel it is needed. They believe that experience is the best teacher and are often self taught types (I like learning things on my own and without any help even from my closest friends). The lure of worldly excitement will often entice them away from the classroom and travel to foreign lands can have a particular fascination for them.

In their careers, those born in this week rarely do well in jobs where they are told what to do or have too much social contact (is it a problem that I like my own ideas more??? Hahaha). Self-employment suits them better since they need the freedom to make their own choices and plans and to follow their instincts and be true to what they believe. Their impulsiveness can easily bring them into conflict with authority figures. They can be emotionally unstable and at times can appear distracted, wire and self-absorbed and they can be easily upset (I admit! I'm sensitive and I can get upset about the littlest things).

In matters of love, these Aquarians insist that their mates understand their need for freedom. They will not be tied down to fixed routines and schedules. They will rarely accept restrictions.

Common Attributes: tolerant, free spirited, detached, eccentric, loner (when has it become a problem to love the independence that being alone gives??)

DEFENSE!!!

Wheww!!! What a week that was!! I’ve been super super busy with our exams and research. Let me give you a view of how my week went.

Monday – quiz in sales, agency and credit transactions law. It’s not your ordinary quiz, it’s a 600 paged - 20 chapter book quiz, now that’s not in any way easy.

Tuesday – Had to edit our research introduction, methodology and conclusion. Yes, it’s a group research but then I want make sure that our research is written well.

I also had to review for our quiz in cost accounting. Reviewing job order costing, process costing, just in time and ABC costing is no joke at all. I had to stay till 1am and wake up at 3am. Now, my sisters call me a geek and an insomniac for nothing!!

Wednesday – quiz in cost; it’s much easier than what I’ve expected. I aced the quiz!!! Happy!!
Had to edit, revise and pass our research.

Friday – woke up at 5am to go to school and went to 168 mall to shop for our group’s defense outfit with she, eloi, ching, kaye & ardie.

Had to plan our research’s presentation with the group.

Saturday- DEFENSE DAY!!!!

At the start of the day I was feeling super stressed and was feeling like I need to vomit, or go to the comfort room but then that was only a feeling; I didn’t vomit at all and nothing to that effect happened. I believe it was just because I was feeling like a hundred of butterflies were roaming, flying and circling inside my stomach. I was feeling nervous, anxious, and excited all at the same time.

Around 3:30 – DEFENSE TIME!!

Yes, Judgment time. We’re prepared for everything- presentation, slides, questions, data and mostly for the panel. Sad thing was, the panel had no respect for us or for our presentation cause while we we’re presenting they didn’t had the decency to stop themselves from eating. Result was, they were not able to listen to the presentation and they didn’t even get to understand what we’re pointing out. Moreover, they were asking questions which the presentation already answered. Now is that fair?? If we’ll get a low grade because of this, I’ll be totally pissed because to think I was the sole person who went all out to write the research, gather the data and plan for the presentation. I’m hoping that all the hardships that I went through won’t be wasted because they can’t control their hunger.

I hope next time they’ll get better panelist who are ready to listen and to focus on what they are required and paid to do.

PEACE OUT =)
